Does a smaller absolute magnitude of a star mean that the star is more luminous?

For example, if one star has an absolute magnitude of 2 and the other is 4, which is more luminous?|||The 2 magnitude star is brighter.

The lower the magnitude, the brighter the star.|||Yes, the smaller the number the more luminous, like wire (or shotgun) gauges. 2 would be brighter than 4.|||Yup the 1st guy gots it
