What is that bright star i see in the southern sky tonight?

I've seen this star or planet for the past week .Here in Mt.Vernon Illinois,it is really bright.Its almost directly in the south.|||It is Jupiter, Venus is not visible at the moment.|||Its ur anus get it its uranus the planet

Just kidding, it's probably either Alpha Centauri or maybe Jupiter.





Doug|||It's the Jupiter I think.. cause you can't see Alpha Centauri from Illinois cause it's located about 60 degree south of the equator..|||Actually, it's not a star it's Venus|||it is alpha centary
