What is the difference between star type and coil type fuel filters?

Few months ago by mistake we replaced coil type filter by star type of our tractor. Lately we noticed that they are different types of filters. Is it going to affect our tractor's functionality?|||Would use a genuine filter unless the star has been recommended for your tractor.|||Hello ,
