Do you ever star a resolved question? What is your thought process for giving stars?

A star seems to show so much respect, what do you consider when you give one? Is it just a matter of "this has never been asked?" or something more? If its a question about stars, like this one, does that factor into consideration?

Do you have a limited amount of stars? Or are they free for the giving?

So what are your general thoughts about the star-giving process?|||Interesting question (don't listen to the grouches).

Although stars don't really mean anything and the points are just for the fun of it - I do think that people mostly star questions they want to be sure to be able to find again - especially if they aren't going to answer the question. Starred questions show up on their own tab on your profile page. (there may be a limit - but I don't use them enough to run out)

I star questions for two reasons:

--- to find them easily if they are interesting and well stated and I'm not going to answer them AND

---if they are really good questions, well thought out and quite thought-provoking and I am going to answer them.

Of course - I occasionally give a star just for the fun of it for really funny questions. Hummm - guess that makes three reasons. Enjoy - and just for fun - here's your star!|||so true

|||I star a question if it really makes me think or laugh. It has to stand out for me. A lot of times it's a question that deals with something I feel very strongly about.|||Yeah. Who gives a crap about stars ? They don't mean a damn thing.|||Kid, star ratings here are worthless. Forget about them and move on. The idea that "A star seems to show so much respect..." well, what are you smoking? Stars and points are meaningless and worthless.
