What is that very bright star just after sunset to the southeast?
Hi I live in western Canada, to be more specific Vancouver. And around 6pm pacific time (just after sunset) there is this lone star that is extremely bright to the southeastern part of the sky. Does anybody know which star that is? or if its a planet? Today's date is February 12th if that helps.|||Venus is extremely bright these days, but it appears in the southwest, near the setting sun. It could not possibly be in the southeast just after sunset.|||No its not Venus.. Venus sits west south west around 830pm I thank its the star Sirius in the constellation Canis Major and probably sets around 1230am in the south west right??|||It could be a star, but if there is a very bright from the southeast, it could be Mars!|||Venus probably|||Its Venus sweety|||That would be the planet Venus.|||Did you mean southwest? Nothing but Venus fills the bill here.|||Venus I think.|||simple, it's Venus where we witness the first greenhouse effect.
