How did White Star Line OR Cunard Line affect the world during the 20th century?

I have to write a biography about a famous person that had a big influence on the world in the 20th or earlier century. How would White Star Line OR Cunard Line be important to the world back then? Since its a biography, I have to write my paper on a person, not the company. So would I write the essay about the owner of the company?|||White Star and Cunard were a major part of the greatest mass migration in history. They are best known for their luxury liners ( Titanic and Queen Mary, to name two of many) but their 'bread and butter" business.....the part of the company that paid the bills.....was carrying German, Irish, Italian Polish and Scandinavian immigrants to the USA.

From about 1890 to 1920 something like 30 MILLION people.....some of them quite probably your ancestors.......came to the US from Europe....as is said on the Statue of Liberty, the "huddle masses yearning to breath free".....

and many of them came on Cunard or White Star ships. Remember there were no airplanes in the early 1900's.......but on any given day from 1880-1914 there were probably 30 ocean liners on the North Atlantic with up to maybe 20,000 people on board........

The other huge impact Cunard and White Star had was on WW1 and WW2.......in 6 months of 1917 the great fleets of Atlantic passenger ships carried ONE MILLION American troops to France to fight and win WW1; in WW2 many of those same ships carried Allied troops everywhere...Australians to North Africa, Americans to Australia, and of course, Americans and Canadians to England for the Normandy Invasion. 5 Cunard liners had their capacity expanded to the point where they could cram 8 to 10,000 troops aboard EACH ship for each 7 day trip to England...a huge buildup of men that Churchill stated shortened the war in Europe by at least a year.

So yes, your could write about the owners of Cunard and White Star, or Albert Ballin of the German firm Hapburg -Lloyd, who was also a major player in the pre WW1 shipping race....

for it was their ships that shaped the 20th century|||lol white star line built the royal mail steamer the titanic, and it sunk if u do not recall and for most of the 20th century peopel looked for the wreckage , until 1985 when dr.robert ballard found it. also the requirements for safety after the sinkign of the titanic changed for the better.
