How do I become a star basketball player and get recruited to college?

I am in 8th grade. I am a above average player but I want to become a star in high school and get recruited to play in college and eventually reach my dream to be in the NBA.


Any tips, plans, strageies, drills, links, and anything else is welcome

DURING PRACTICE:


1. Play pick-up games at least 4 times a week.


2. Lift weights to make you stronger.


3. Jog every day (for stamina)


4. Work on your lateral movement (movement of the feet).


5. Rest a lot.





DURING THE GAME


1. Work hard while inside the court (make every second count).


2. Move without the ball.


3. Don't be a ballhog (pass to an open teammate).


4. Defend and rebound like there's no tomorrow.





G0t it? Go0d!!!!!|||work damn hard, be the first person at practice and the last to leave, every bit counts, work on your fitness so you can play as many minutes as your needed so if you ever have to play a whole game your capable of that, pass, play like lebron and not like kobe, college scouts prefer players getting 25 points and 10+ assists rather than 40 points and 2 assists, they see a lot of good scorers every day, they dont see anywhere as near as many quality pass first players and if you are lucky enough to get a college scholarship dont miss the oppurtunity to get a good degree that will be a back up if you dont make it to the nba, dont take your eye of the dream but plan for a back up in case you dont make it for whatever reason such as injury etc





so basiclly


1.work hard


2.look to pass to open players first


3.dont ignore your degree|||Well just practice and join the team each year. High school ball is harder than grade school.





Also have a back up plan such as another career you would like.





I want to be in the NBA also but joining the NBA is a 1% chance. My alternate career is computer info tech.|||well one, getting into nba is REALLY slim, what u see on tv with college players playing in division 1 skools are almost impossible enuf for most. So, try to ask a senior who is real good at bball to help u out and give u tips. Know that there are millions kids with the same dream so work hard|||seriously, give up on your dreams....think realisticly....i was also like you except I was the best in my high school. I got recruited by LSU but i had a career ending injury. There are so many things that can go wrong in professional sports. And i hope u believe me because i am not lying here.|||Well you can do all kinds of **** and hope to make it but the best thing you can do is set your mind to it and Practice everyday!|||getting to the nba is so slim that i only want to get a free scholarship to any college on earth and then work on my dentistry career
