How good are the Energy Star Hunter Original ceiling fans compared to previous generations?

I was reading that the motors used in the Energy Star Hunter Original ceiling fans of today are weaker than the motors used in older Hunter Originals. Does this mean that the Originals made today do not move as much air, or not as durable as the predecessors?
