My husband and I are planning to go to Singapore in May with our 2 year old toddler. Am looking for a nice kid friendly 4 star hotel on Orchard Street. Can anyone help or suggest?|||There are many suggestions here with lots of choices and links.

Just websearch 1 hotel either Pan Pacific or Mandarin at Marina Centre area.
There are a couple of hotels in the surroundings area. You will be able to see
all the modern and user friendly amneties there very suitable for family stay.

Not so congested as Orchard area and yet, just a kilometre or 2 to the begining
of Orchard Road belt with everything in between. Chinatown %26amp; Singapore River to
the left, the infamous Bugis to the right with Little India a further KM or 2, This area
is the south of Orchard Road towards the seafront.
Lots of connected walkways to the surrounding malls and many many more than
Orchard road.
Seafront/waterfront very relax kind of atmosphere rather than Orchard which is
more for the fast going business / entretainments type.
This is just a brief. When you get to the web, you will get a clearer picture of the
area. Its considered in town with easy transportation all around, special tours eg.
Duck tours (on amphibious bus in %26amp; out of the water).
All other tourist amenities are within 3 kilometres radius.

Whereas you can help,book and donate for a cause.|||Only a 4-star? Almost all the hotels in the Orchard Road area are above that level. Shangri-la is one of the finest hotels in the world, and one of the most expensive in S'pore. But it has grounds if you want a little space for that toddler to run around. The rest are all big city hotels and don't even think in terms of kiddie pool, playground, etc. Goodwood Park Hotel (Scotts Road, near Orchard Road) also has some grounds, not as much as Shangri-la.
If you want to be in a more resort-y area, go for Sentosa Island resorts. There would be more beaches, etc, for playing with your toddler. East Coast Park area would be nice to play with your toddler too, if you can find hotel around there.
Lots of guidebooks on S'pore. Lonely Planet books got their start in S'pore. Go to the library and start reading. Then use kayak.com or something to check out current hotel rates.
Also Singapore Tourism Board has a good website - google for it.|||Hi! Concorde Hotel Singapore is the only 4-star on Orchard. I hear they have very a nice pool, one thing you might have to consider for your 2-year-old. Also check for menu that can offer baby-size servings.
But because Singapore is a small country, you can get to the next 4-star Hotel in the adjacent blocks. Here's a complete list of 4-stars in SG.:

Have an enjoyable stay!!!|||Do you have to stay right in the heart of Orchard Road (not street)? For your info, Singapore's transport system is very efficient and even if you do stay out of Orchard, you will have easy access to all the shopping malls. Staying in Orchard means you will be paying more for a hotel room than you would if you choose to stay out of the area. Also, strange as it seems, the people who suggested Shangri-la hotel to you must be greatly mistaken. It is NOT a 4-star hotel. It is a 6-star hotel and very popular with foreign dignitaries / governmental meetings. So you can only imagine the price of their hotel rooms!
I have just Google "Singapore Hotels" and it came up with a long list of hotels. Try it. Go through the list and see which suits your needs best. Again, don't worry, getting around in Singapore on public transport is easy.

;D|||If you insists 4 star hotels then you've quite a bit limitation there. Most of the hotels @ Orchard are 5* or 5* deluxe (Shangri La, Marriot etc) which can be quite expensive.
Depending on your budget you can select the hotel and when you say 'kid' friendly do you expect a lot of kid play grounds etc? if so you'd be disappointed.|||Grand Central is the only 4 star hotel in Orchard area.
the hotel is not so new , but still nice and good in reasonable rate. service okay. not to bad !
the only hotel around Orchard with " very big " room for 4 at very low rate .
