What is the star item the shopkeeper gives you in Tamagotchi Music Star?

When the shopkeeper visits, I sometimes get an envelope, and inside is a star. What is it? I can't figure out where it is or what it does.|||u play on a tamagotchi LMFAO!!!!!!!! :'D that is soo sad havent u realised there r things like phones and ipads in the world now??
